Visa Requirements

  • Project Title: One Easy Visa
  • Completed: Nov 2009
  • Category: Web Development > PHP / HTML / CSS
  • URL:http://easytravelvisas.com/drupal/
  • Description:
One Easy Visa is a company which provides resources for travelers to exotic destinations.  The company is slowly expanding its offerings to include the ability for travelers to fill out and print visa application forms online.
  • Custom PHP Programming Solution:
The company uses Drupal and needed two components added to the site.

The first component, seen on the left, is a form with dropdown menus.  The PHP application reads from a spreadsheet which contains a matrix of citizenship and destination countries.  If a visa is required, the application informs the user and lets them click on the button for more information.

The second component is a graphic "continent browser".  When the user's mouse hovers over a continent, it seemingly jumps out of the graphic.  When the user clicks on a continent, it takes them to the appropriate page on the oneasyvisa.com website.

Green Energy Coalition PDF Print E-mail

  • Project Title:
    Green Energy Coalition
  • Completed: 08/15/2009
  • Category: Web Development > Joomla > VirtueMart > PHP
  • URL:
    http://green-shops.co.uk
    http://earthproduct.net
  • Description:
The Green Energy Coalition represents a varying series of vendors with an established presence in the US and the UK.  Vendors are located in the UK, the US, and China.  The product line consists mainly of alternative energy products including solar, wind and water.
  • Website Cluster Composition:
The cluster of sites includes 38 peripheral websites (at last count), and one central site.  The central site features a Joomla installation, VirtueMart shopping cart, PayPal payment gateway, and the USPS shipping module.
  • Custom PHP Remote Operation:
As the needs of this customer were constantly changing, all peripheral sites use the central VirtueMart product database, and all sales go through the central site.  Custom PHP programming was developed to allow the peripheral sites to read the product database and to display products according to customer defined filters.
In addition, Joomla's organizational features were utilized to break the sites down into groups: common, US only, UK only, and individual sites.  Modifications allow the customer to create or change "buttons" which represent product groups, which then instantly updates all peripheral sites.  In addition, the customer has control over page descriptions and metatags for each site and each product grouping.
